Oh my word, one of my friends just showed me someone who is trying to claim that the Bible supports this and that and all this crud, and they used Exodus 21:16 as an example of the Bible supposedly promoting kidnapping and selling people. This is what the verse says:
"Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper's possession.
Am I missing something here?
It makes me sad to think that a person can get themselves into a state of such anger that they honestly believe a Bible verse is supporting the thing it’s condemning. Being blinded by anger is never a healthy place to be.
Always remember that the thing people like this need most is love. They’re not open to reason at this point, so all we can do to them is love them and show them that we’re not what they think we are.

One of my male friends has been struggling in the job market due to what we think may be how toxic masculinity hurts men, or at least one form of it. Legit, he lost a plumbing job because be was “timid” driving a truck that was almost the size of a school bus, even though he felt okay after doing a few laps around the parking lot. I actually talked to the employer and that’s what he said. My friend’s timidity driving the truck for the first time then painted the way the guy saw my friend, and he refused to hire him. The guy was just offed by the fact that my friend didn’t fulfill the toxic masculinity stereotype of “oh yeah let me in there how fast does it go can I honk the horn when can I go on the interstate let me sniff my armpits and scratch my butt and spit on the ground.” You know, the kind of attitudes that get people killed when things like school-bus-sized trucks are involved. I would have thought a man who respects how big, dangerous, and expensive that truck is would have been a good trait to see, but nooo, men are expected to loud and rough and confident all the time, even if it puts people and property in danger! Have any of my male friends experienced similar problems? We talk a lot about how toxic masculinity hurts women, but is this how it hurts men?
When you’re watching a movie and you can’t tell if it’s a Disney/Pixar movie or “Cuties.”
Since when is p*dophilia okay in any film, much less an animated kids’ film? Shame on you, Pixar.
