I took both photos, so they belong to me. The cat is a cat named Callie I know from a stable I visit, and the dog is my sweet adopted dog Lady Bug who passed away at the age of 16 (rest in peace, Lady  .)

"Don't breed or buy while homeless die. Spay, neuter, and adopt a pet." Every 10 seconds, a dog or cat is put down in a U.S. shelter. Every 10 seconds, and that's only counting U.S. shelters. Many of those dogs and cats are healthy and could have made wonderful pets. I love pets and have many myself, but it breaks my heart how many pet owners are irresponsible and let their fertile pet roam around and breed, or owners who will purposefully breed dogs and cats to sell the puppies and kittens. Purposeful breeding would be fine if the pet market weren't already so glutted. Also, when buying a pet, it's very difficult to avoid puppy mills. That's why all pet owners and potential pet owners need to be responsible and considerate and always try to adopt, not buy, fix any pets not intended for breeding, and carefully guard any fertile pets. No one wants to see animal shelters filled with homeless animals, so let's change and fix the problem!
